Sap barat (disebut juga sap imun protein) adalah sebuah metode untuk mendeteksi protein pada sampel jaringan. Sap imun menggunakan elektroforesis gel untuk memisahkan protein asli atau perubahan oleh jarak polipeptida atau oleh struktur 3-D protein. Protein tersebut dikirim ke membran, di mana mereka dideteksi menggunakan antibodi untuk menargetkan protein.
