Raymond Clevie Carver Jr. (25 Mei 1938 – 2 Agustus 1988) adalah seorang penulis cerita pendek dan penyair asal Amerika Serikat. Dia menerbitkan kumpulan cerita pertamanya, Will You Please Be Quiet, Please?, pada tahun 1976. Koleksi terobosannya, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love (1981), langsung mendapat pujian dan menjadikan Carver sebagai tokoh penting di dunia sastra.[1] Kemudian diikuti oleh Cathedral (1983), yang dianggap Carver sebagai titik balik dalam kariernya dan secara luas dianggap sebagai mahakaryanya.[2]
Kumpulan lengkap cerita-ceritanya, Where I'm Calling From, diterbitkan tak lama sebelum kematiannya pada tahun 1988.
