Feldhofer 1 atau Neanderthal 1 adalah nama saintifik dari fosil spesimen tipe berusia 40.000 tahun dari spesies Homo neanderthalensis.^[1] Fosil tersebut ditemukan pada Agustus 1856 di gua Kleine Feldhofer Grotte, Lembah Neander (Neandertal), yang berjarak 13 km (8,1 mi) dari timur Düsseldorf, Jerman.

Pada 1864, deskripsi fosil tersebut pertama kali diterbitkan dalam sebuah jurnal saintifik, kala fosil tersebut dinamai secara resmi.^[2] Neanderthal 1 bukanlah fosil Neanderthal pertama yang pernah ditemukan. Fosil Neanderthal lainnya telah ditemukan pada masa sebelumnya namun tak diakui sebagai fosil yang berasal dari spesies berbeda.^[2]
