John Phillips FRS (25 Desember 1800 – 24 April 1874) adalah seorang geolog asal Inggris.^[1] Pada 1841, ia menerbitkan skala waktu geologi global pertama yang berdasarkan pada korelasi fosil dalam strata batu, sehingga membantu menstandardisasi terminologi termasuk istilah Mesozoikum, yang ia ciptakan.
