James Rash (lahir 15 Juli 1971) adalah aktor, komedian, dan pembuat film asal Amerika Serikat. Ia memerankan Dean Craig Pelton dalam sitkom NBC, Community (2009–2015), yang membuatnya dinominasikan untuk Critics' Choice Television Award untuk Aktor Pendukung Terbaik dalam Serial Komedi pada tahun 2012.
Ia ikut menulis The Descendants (2011) bersama Alexander Payne dan Nat Faxon yang membuat mereka menerima Academy Award, Independent Spirit Award dan Writers Guild of America Award untuk Skenario Adaptasi Terbaik. Mereka juga dinominasikan untuk BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award dan Critics' Choice Movie Award.[1] Sejak saat itu, Rash, bersama Faxon, menulis dan menyutradarai film komedi The Way, Way Back (2013) dan Downhill (2020).
Kehidupan pribadi
Rash lahir di Charlotte, Carolina Utara pada 15 Juli 1971. Dia dan saudara perempuannya diadopsi.[2] Dia bersekolah di Charlotte Latin School.[3] Setelah lulus, ia menghabiskan tahun pasca sarjana di Lawrenceville School di Lawrenceville, New Jersey.[3] Dia adalah anggota The Groundlings, grup komedi improvisasi yang berbasis di Los Angeles.
Rash menyatakan dia mengaku sebagai anggota LGBT "lebih dari 10 tahun yang lalu" saat wawancara mempromosikan Bros pada September 2022.[4]
