Denis Hale Johnson (1 Juli 1949 – 24 Mei 2017) adalah seorang novelis, penulis cerita pendek, dan penyair Amerika. Ia mungkin paling dikenal karena kumpulan cerpen debutnya, Jesus' Son (1992). Novelnya yang paling sukses, Tree of Smoke (2007), memenangkan National Book Award for Fiction.[2] Johnson dua kali masuk nominasi untuk Penghargaan Pulitzer untuk Fiksi.[3] Secara keseluruhan, Johnson adalah penulis sembilan novel, satu novella, dua buku cerpen, tiga kumpulan puisi, dua kumpulan drama, dan satu buku reportase.[4] Karya terakhirnya, sebuah buku kumpulan cerpen berjudul The Largesse of the Sea Maiden, diterbitkan secara anumerta pada tahun 2018.
