Brett Goldstein (lahir 17 Juli 1980) adalah aktor, komedian, penulis, produser dan podcaster asal Inggris. Dikenal karena perannya sebagai Roy Kent dalam serial komedi olahraga Apple TV+, Ted Lasso, ia menerima Penghargaan Primetime Emmy untuk Aktor Pendukung Luar Biasa dalam Serial Komedi untuk dua musim pertama. Dia juga salah satu pencipta serial komedi Shrinking (2023–sekarang).
Kehidupan awal
Goldstein lahir di pinggiran Sutton di London, dari keluarga Yahudi Inggris.[1] Ia menempuh pendidikan di Sevenoaks School, salah satu sekolah independen tertua di Inggris.[2] Setelah sekolah menengah, ia kuliah di Universitas Warwick, di mana ia lulus dengan gelar dalam studi film.[1]
Tidak lama setelah itu, dia pindah sebentar ke Marbella, Spanyol, untuk bekerja di klub tari telanjang yang dibeli ayahnya saat "krisis paruh baya".[1] Dia kemudian pindah ke New York City untuk belajar akting di American Academy of Dramatic Arts.[3] Saat berada di sana, dia mulai menulis naskah yang kemudian dia bawa ke Edinburgh Fringe Festival.[4] Dia mengubah pengalamannya di Marbella menjadi rutinitas komedi stand-up, Brett Goldstein Grew Up in a Strip Club (2011).[5]
