Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay
Ayob Khan bin Mydin Pitchay adalah seorang perwira polisi Malaysia berketurunan OIndia Malaysia, yang menjabat sebagai Wakil Ketua Polis Negara ke-29 sejak Juni 2023.
Karier
Berasal dari Alor Setar, Kedah, Ayob Khan bergabung dengan kepolisian pada tahun 1993 saat berusia 27 tahun. Ia pernah menjabat sebagai direktur Departemen Investigasi Kriminal (CID) Bukit Aman, [1] direktur Departemen Investigasi Kejahatan Narkotika (NCID) Bukit Aman, [2] [3] Kepala Kepolisian Johor [4] [5] dan sebagai Kepala Divisi Kontra Terorisme Cabang Khusus Bukit Aman (E8) sebelum dipromosikan menjadi DIG.

Operasi melawan kelompok teroris dan militan
Sebagai Kepala Divisi Kontra Terorisme Cabang Khusus Bukit Aman (E8) dari tahun 2013 hingga 2019, Ayob Khan memimpin operasi melawan banyak kelompok teroris dan militan yang aktif, mulai dari Negara Islam Irak dan Syam (ISIS) hingga Abu Sayyaf . Ia memimpin operasi tersebut hingga berhasil dengan menangkap para perekrut, perantara kelompok-kelompok tersebut, dan mencegah serangan yang mereka rencanakan di Malaysia.
Wakil Inspektur Jenderal Polisi (sejak 2023)
Pada tanggal 20 Juni 2023, Menteri Dalam Negeri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail menghadap Yang di-Pertuan Agong Abdullah untuk menyampaikan nama-nama kandidat untuk posisi Inspektur Jenderal Polisi (IGP) dan DIG. Dilaporkan bahwa Ayob Khan, Direktur Departemen Keamanan Dalam Negeri dan Ketertiban Umum Bukit Aman Hazani Ghazali, Direktur NCID Bukit Aman Mohd Kamaruddin Md Din dan seorang kandidat yang tidak diketahui adalah kandidat untuk posisi DIG. Keesokan harinya pada tanggal 21 Juni 2023, Saifuddin mengumumkan bahwa Ayob Khan dipromosikan ke posisi DIG untuk menggantikan Razarudin Husain yang dipromosikan ke posisi IGP efektif pada tanggal 23 Juni 2023 setelah Abdullah menyetujui pengangkatan mereka.
